We FINALLY opened our new branch for work last Monday. This new branch has been in the works for over a year and has been a reality that it would actually happen since January. In May it was decided that I would be the teller to move over the the new branch. We started getting everything ready to make the transition to the new office. The opening date was supposed to be the middle of July. July came and went.....August.....and September. So we opened on October 20th...that's close to the middle of July, right??? HA!!
There are only 3 of us in this new office and things are pretty quiet compared to the main branch. The only problem is that nobody really knows that we are open yet. So my days are filled with endless sitting and staring at the clock. I try to find projects like things to put away and organize, but those usually only fill up about an hour. So I check email, blogs, balance my checkbook and do other things to help pass the time. Last week was the "emotion bowl" here in Idaho Falls. I'm a newcomer around these parts so I didn't really know what it was about. Apparently it's the game where 2 of the local high schools play against each other. The winner gets to paint the loser's goal post with the winner's school colors. All of the business on the west side of town had decorations in their window for Skyline. My supervisor told us to make some decorations to put up in our windows too. So last Wednesday afternoon I spent all day making grizzly bear paw prints and signs to hang up in the window. I wish I would've gotten a picture. I did a pretty good job considering the limited resources....black permanant marker and a few sheets of cardstock. But it sure did help the time to pass by.
Friday we were the busiest. We were busier than we were all week combined. That's not saying much though I, myself, helped about 10 people. So I guess I should be enjoying not being so busy I'm pulling my hair out. Or that I don't have to listen to people whining or ranting and raving about fees, etc. They are running the commercial again that I had posted a couple months ago and they are advertising to let people know we are open, but it's going to take time. In the mean time I'll enjoy the quiet.
