Can I get a Grande, extra hot, no whip, no foam, soy caramel macchiato, with splenda & caramel sauce?

My new office is in the same strip mall (for lack of better word) than Starbucks. Several people at the main branch are jealous that we are so close to as it is the only Starbucks in town. I could care less as I am not a coffee drinker.

Tonight Brian and I are going up to Rexburg so he wanted to bring me to work this morning so he could just pick me up and we can leave. He had to drop me off early so he could make it to work on time. I decided I would walk down to Starbucks and get a hot chocolate.

I've never really been in a Starbucks before...why would I? It was like going to a foreign country for 5 minutes. This is how the conversation went down...Imagine everything in a foreign language...you pick which one...

Me: I''d like a hot chocolate please.
Worker Girl: Do you want regular or signature?
Me: What's the difference?
WG: The signature blend has a more european flavor.
Me: um.(giving her a blank stare.... thinking to myself what does european hot chocolate taste like?)
WG: It's richer than the regular hot chocolate.
Me: Oh, ok I'll take the signature.
WG: Do you want regular, hazelnut, or salted caramel?
Me: I'll take the regular ( I didn't know there differnet kinds of the signature hot chocolate.)
WG: Ok do you want that Venti?
Me: I don't know what that is.
WG: Large size? (Holds up the cup like I'm a retard.)
Me: Um...ok
WG: Ok, that'll be $3.95
Me: (Thinking to myself.....wow that's one expensive hot chocolate.)

Coffee drinkers...especially those at starbucks... speak an entirely different language. They could definitely tell that I was a first-timer.

Well the hot chocolate did taste good, but I don't think it was worth $3.95! Next time Brian wants to drop me off early for work maybe I'll just wander around Walmart for 20 minutes. But then again, that could end up costing me more than $4.00!

I used to live in Seattle. Every place was like that. I found it easier to go to McDonalds for hot cocoa, at least that way I didn't feel like a high school drop out. I'm not a high school drop out, but you get the drift.

Funny! I've never been to a Starbucks either. I felt like I was in a foreign country just reading your post.

I'd better stay out of there. I am totally incapable of making that many decisions at once. If it helps I went to Walmart and spent $120.00 today. I think I'd go for the hot chocolate if I were you!

Very funny Leilani! That's how I felt when I went into Action Motor Sports to get a 4-wheeler part.
