Well folks he just couldn't wait another hour!
I begged him not to tell & thanked him for the flower.
But he was too excited and bursting at the seams.
So last night was the night Brian spilled the beans!
The litle gold package was shoved in my hands.
"Open, it. Open, it. Open, it", was his command.
As I opened the package slowly with care,
I tried to show excitement, and not despair.
I came to enjoy it as I gave up the fight.
The box was finally open and held to the light.
Two dangling earings sat nestled in the box.
Diamonds? What a sneaky little fox!

I hope you enjoyed my lame attempt at poetry. It sure did make my afternoon go by quick. A continuation of the story... Brian wanted me to wear the earings today and show them off. So I went to put them on this morning and they didn't fit. Of all the things that don't fit...earings! See the cuff at the bottom of the earing that makes it look like a hoop? Well my hole is too high and the cuff won't fit around my ear lobe. When I told Brian about the problem he wanted to know how much it was to get "another hole". I told him I wasn't going to get my ears pierced again just to be able to wear those earings. So he is exchanging the earings tonight and I told him I didn't want to see the new pair until Christmas morning!

So the contest didn't last very long at all! He lasted 15 days. The official winner is his twin sister Jessica! She guessed this Saturday, November 22nd. She was only 1 day off (since he told me after midnight). If you haven't read the comments from my contest go read them as this next part will stem from them.
I told him about my contest and asked him about the time he told the big surprise for the candy cane. He said he was still bitter about that as he got in a LOT of trouble. He was also mad because he never did get the candy cane after he told!
But I promise I did not offer him a single candy to tell me what the gift was.

I never knew you were a poet (although, I'm not surprised!) That is so funny that he told you already! Well, atleast you will still be surprised again for Christmas! They are gorgeous earrings by the way! Can't wait to see the 'real' ones!
For some reason my first stanza of the poem didn't show up. So now it's complete and may make a bit more sense.
I guess I know him better than I thought! He sure loves you huh? I have never gotten diamonds!
lol... Oh Lani, you've got quite a husband on your hands... get another hole?? Funny. Well now you don't have to wonder what you're getting for Christmas...:) Happy Turkey Day this week! Love ya
p.s.... never knew, all I have to do is offer Brian a candy cane and I can unlock the vault.
At least he kept you in suspense for 15 days. The earrings were beautiful. My husband wouldn't even think of something so feminine or beautiful. You're a lucky gal.
That's great your going to Oakley... see you tomorrow.
