We spent the weekend at Brian's parents since his cousin was in town visiting. We had a fun time with all the family and it was nice to just relax for a couple of days. We got home about 11:00 last night and we found that Petrie had died. He hurt himself somehow in his cage and then got tangled in one of his toys. We were too late to help him any. Brian is taking it really hard and is trying to work through all of his "I should've" scenarios. We still have our parakeets, but Petrie was much more interactive with us. We taught him how to do a cat-call whistle, but he would never do it on command. He would do it whenever he wanted attention. He especially like to do it just as we were sitting down to watch a movie. He was very curious about things and loved to explore around our apartment. Petrie was also very gentle, he never bit us once. We are sad that he is gone and will miss him a lot.

Oh Brian--I am so sad. I know how much you loved that bird. Dang. So sorry.
We are so sorry for your loss. I know Brian gets really attached to pets.
We had fun hanging out and playing the Wii with you guys (or watching Steve and Chris battle it out). We hope to come up again soon, this last time went by too fast.
