100th Post & Cub Scouts

Well this is my 100th post. It's been a little slow in coming lately, but here it is! I thought it'd be very fitting for this post to be about cub scouts because 2010 is the 100th birthday of the scouting program! How do I know so much about scouting?? Because Brian and I are the Webelos Den Leaders!

Shortly after we moved to Coolidge we were called as the Webelos Den Leaders. The Webelos are the 10 year old boys. We combine with the other ward in town so we do have a bit of help from their leader sometimes. When we were first called I thought they were just calling Brian to work with the scouts as he is big into scouting, but nope, it was for both of us together! So we've been learning all about Cub Scouts together. It is a TON of work, but it is fun to plan things for the boys and even better to see them enjoying what you plan.

We had the Pinewood Derby at the end of February and my friend, Natalie, and I made these ADORABLE drivers licenses for the boys thanks to the inspiration from my friend, Deanna.

This is my nephew's drivers license.

The boys LOVED their drivers licenses and we even had a fancy electronic track. The only disadvantage to the electronic track was that the boys were not allowed anywhere near the track. They couldn't even put their cars up at the beginning, but they still had fun.

This month in Webelos we are working on their Showman Pin. The boys have written a skit that will be performed with puppets at Pack Meeting in 2 weeks. I'll have to post more about that after their performance. I'm really excited to see how it all comes together!
