I bought my car in June 2005. Overall it's been a pretty good car except for one minor detail. Every winter since I bought the car the back end has had to be replaced somehow.
The first winter, my best friend (also my roommate) backed my car into a truck. It wasn't entirely her fault. It was so cold the brakes had frozen and wouldn't work. You know you are true friends when you can get through that and STILL be friends. I drove around with a smashed up back end for a while until WE could afford to get it fixed. They had to replace the bumper and the trunk.
The 2nd winter was just after Brian and I had gotten engaged. It was Martin Luther King Day weekend and we were heading down to my sister's house in Utah. My sister and I were going wedding dress shopping. We hadn't even made it out of Idaho Falls yet when we were rear ended at a stop light. The guy couldn't stop on the ice. The bumper had to be refinished that time.
The 3rd winter was shortly after New Years. I was getting off work and was on my way to Brian's parents house to spend time with his family. I got to the corner and once again The guy behind me couldn't stop and slid right into me. Once again the bumper had to be replaced.
This year I am hoping that the curse can be broken. I really don't want to be in yet another accident. So here's to a safe 2009 winter season!

Is it funny yet or still a nightmare? Here's to an accident free year for the Altima and you!
I hope you break the curse this year.
Love,
Mom
Good luck! I've heard that bad things happen in threes. So since this is the fourth winter, I think you're going to be fine!
Yeah, man, that is a bad luck vehicle.
It's a good little car, but that trunk is just a magnet for accidents!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I'm glad we are still friends too;) Love ya!
