Still Chugging....Almost There!

We've been traveling now since Sunday. It's been fun and we still like each other so far, haha! Our first day we went through Wyoming. I've never seen more semi trucks than on that freeway. We decided that one of our goals of the trip is to see a semi that is post "Trick My Truck" worthy. This meaning that it is a nice truck and that the trucker actually takes care of the appearance of it. But alas, we have seen only 1 that may possibly fit the criteria, but it was a bit of a stretch. I guess we have today and tomorrow to spot one.

Wyoming was pretty uneventful until we got to Laramie. There was no snow, but the storm that had passed through the day or two before had left frozen slush on the roads. Traffic was backed up for miles and we had yucky roads for about 60 miles. Once we hit the Colorado border the roads were so much better. We stayed the night in Denver at a friend's house and we were up and at it again early the next morning.

We drove across Kansas and we all know how much fun that is. We stopped for a couple days just outside of Kansas City, Missouri at my friend, Robin's house. We were there in time to go to Chuck E Cheese's with her family to celebrate her little boy's 3rd birthday! Brian had a blast, he loves video games. It was fun to watch her kids having the time of their lives. The next day we just lounged and took a break from traveling. Or at least I lounged. Brian always finds a project. He spent all afternoon doing a project out in their backyard. Robin was glad for the free help and I was glad that he was occupied! The kids loved Roscoe even though her little boy was scared of him. Roscoe loved being there too because he got fed lots of potato chips and licked up everything the kids dropped on the floor.

We drove to Memphis from there and stayed the night in a scary motel. It was a super 8, I don't have anything against Super 8, but this one is NOT one that I would recommend. Our room was okay, it was just the rest of the place. Even Roscoe didn't like it. We were very glad to check out of there the next morning. We went to the zoo in memphis. It was fun. We saw the sea lion show and had fun watching them for a few minutes. We then went to the polar bears. They were hilarious!! We were in a room that let you see them swim underwater. One of the bears liked to jump from a rock right at the people watching him up against the glass. Everyone freaked out and scooched back then he would push off the glass and do it again. It's like they knew they had an audience.

We left Memphis in the early afternoon and travelled down through Mississippi. We are now in Meridian, Mississippi, which is pretty close to the Alabama border. Our hotel is SO much nicer than our last one. We are at the La Quinta. They didn't even charge us for Roscoe. He likes it a lot better here. He will walk down the hallway and we don't have to carry him like in Memphis.

Roscoe has been so good on our trip. He sleeps most of the time we're in the car. He is also doing very well at holding his bladder. We've only had to make a few unscheduled stops for him. We are quite amazed at how well he is taking this.

Well Brian is pacing, waiting for me to be done so we can go. I was going to post some pictures and such, but that will have to wait until we are up and going in Orlando. We are heading across Alabama today and we are going to stop near Pensacola to visit Brian's grandma. Then tomorrow we will be in Orlando. Yay!
