So as we've been packing we've been DE-JUNKING! It feels so good to get rid of STUFF that has been accumulating. As we've been going through some things we've found a few TREASURES!
Last Christmas my parents brought my STUFF when they came to visit. There were about 3 boxes full of things from my UPBRINGING. Some of this was items from my bedroom in high school. ONE of such things was a GOOFY PIGGY BANK I got at Disneyland. Brian shook the bank and his EYES LIT UP as it was VERY FULL! He emptied it out and we counted $26 in change! The next day I brought home some coin rollers from work and we rolled them up and put them in our SAVINGS account for a little spending money on our way to Orlando.
We came across a box that had many of the cards we got for our WEDDING. I told Brian that it was time to let them go as we had a list of everybody who came and/or sent us a card. He asked if he should go through them before he threw them away. I didn't think there was much point as we had gone through them pretty good when we got married. He decided that he would go through them JUST IN CASE we missed something. The VERY FIRST CARD he opened had a $20 bill inside!! Of course had had to RUB THAT IN just a little. So he declared FINDERS KEEPERS and he got to have the money.
This past weekend we were packing up the GARAGE and BASEMENT when I came across one STRAGGLING wedding card. Brian told me to CHUCK IT, when I looked at him and told him I better CHECK IT, just in case. :) You guessed it!! I found a $20 gift card to TARGET! Brian wanted me to give it to him and I said NOPE! FINDERS KEEPERS!
So you see, it TOTALLY pays off to go through things BEFORE you throw them away. You NEVER know what you have hidden in your STUFF!

Going Through Stuff Really Pays Off!!

Believe it or not, I found $100 in cash I had lost a year before. Apparently I had put it somewhere safe until I put it in the bank. I call these monetary blessings. We usually find them when we really need a boost. It always happened when we were broke.
The greatest treasure I have found when de-junking is ... A CLEAN HOUSE. That makes me happier than about anything in the world.
I've been de-junking at my house too. All I've managed to get finish is Bell and Haylee's room. I found a penny and some plastic play money. Oh well, like Shell says, organizing does wonders for my emotianl stability. It makes me sooo happy.
Pretty sure I would've just thrown it out.... just kidding. Hopefully I would have checked... Nothing like a feeling of free $$
