Brian and I just got done house-sitting/babysitting for 11 days for Brian's boss. We stayed at their house and "supervised" their 15 & 19 year old daughters along with two very adorable chihuahuas. Let's just say the easiest part of our stay was taking care of the dogs and we will miss them. The two girls, on the other hand, weren't so easy. The older girl was "too old for a babysitter and could take care of herself". The younger girl has problems attending school (60 unexcused absences) and we had to deal with this a couple of days.
After the 2nd day of the younger girl staying home "sick" from school she needed a doctor's note before getting into some major trouble at school. So I took a very unwilling girl to the doctor. All she had told Brian and I was that she didn't feel good. We thought it was probably the crud going around. Boy was I surprised to find out it was something entirely different when we got in the doctor's office. When asked what was wrong she replied that she had a really bad pain in her stomach. Once she started explaining what was wrong, I knew exactly what the problem was....most women do. After a urine test, a blood test, and x-rays, the male doctor (and all the male nurses) came to the same conclusion as I had. She was prescribed ibuprofin and told take it 3 times a day and just push through. The doctor looked at me a bit crazy when I told him I we needed a note for school. So we got our note and we went on our way with one extremely embarrased 15 year-old girl. I just wish she would've told me why she wasn't feeling good before hand so I could have spared her parents some money.
That was probably the most the most eventful part of our stay. I filled time by working on the baby quilt I'm making for a friend. After Brian got tired of all my grumbling at my sewing machine, he bought me a new one. It's nothing fancy, but it's much better than the one I had and we got a killer deal on it. He also surprised me that same night by showing up after work with something I had mentioned I needed earlier that day. I am definitely lucky to have a husband that treats me so well.
We've had a very eventful last couple of weeks and we're glad to be getting back to "normal". We have questioned quite heavily this last week or so if we really want to have children. We have come to the conclusion that they come as babies for a reason. And when they are our teenagers we can tell them what to do and punish them how we want...right? At least that's what we'll keep telling ourselves.

Nice Lani. I don't want teen-agers either... but too late! It will be here before I know it. blahh.. that's funny you took that girl to the doctor. I would have told her to take her funky butt to school. I'm surprised she didn't tell you what the deal was before she went to the dr. duh! Anyway your blog is great. Glad your doing it!
